LEE CLARK

Lee Clark lives in Anahola on the east side of Kauai, Hawaii where he also has his studio. Lee works mainly with acrylics, and will do commissions.

Lee moved to Kauai in the mid-90s attracted by the Aloha Spirit and the beauty that surrounds the Hawaiian Islands. He is basically a self taught artist. His love of surfing and painting come together, an expression of his inner self which is beautifully captured in his work. Clark puts his sensitivity and acrylic paint on canvas to create images of "perfect waves", as realistic as photographs. Murals, surfboards, T-Shirts, cars, decals have all been touched by Clark's creativity. The island continues to inspire Clark's each day. "When I look at the waves breaking I can see the brush strokes. I feel so inspired here. Kauai is definitely 'God's masterpiece' I just copy his work."

Laird Hamilton's dad, Bill, commissioned Lee to paint "Laird at Tahiti" as a 5' x 3'. Bill then made a replica board with a 3' x 5' Giclee, which he took to SEMA in 2003. It was auctioned off for $19,500, and the money went to Ocean Reefs.
