Lorraine's images remain long-lasting reminders of Eastern Long Island's valuable cultural history. Born and raised in Westhampton Beach, N.Y., a graduate of the University of Bridgeport with a B.S in art education, Lorraine knew from childhood that she would be a painter. With a life long desire to live near the shore, she has called Montauk home for the past 24 years. Her many landscapes and seascapes, which capture images of Eastern Long Island up to the coastlines of Maine, reflect a love affair with New England, especially its boats. All of Lorraine's paintings are original as she believes that each piece is a unique creation. Her technique has evolved from a unique form of pointillism to loose, free flowing strokes. Regardless of method, she aims to create images that vary in tone from gentle and muted, to strong, powerful and free; all of which are aided by the manipulation of light and color. Lorraine's work has been shown for many years in prestigious galleries, and is represented in major collections in the US and around the world.
