Her artist name, and Chinese name is Ming Hwa. Her legal name is Carrie Henry. She is Chinese, born and raised in Taiwan, Republic of China. She came to reside in Texas when she got married many years ago. Her interest in art started in her early school years. Art classes used to be her favorite subject, and she represented her classes to compete with other schools in different art contests many times and won several prizes. She always used her spare time to do drawings throughout her life. In 1994, she moved to Kauai, Hawaii with her family. She was deeply moved by the scenic beauty around her. She decided to pursue art as a hobby shortly after. She took an art course at Kauai Community College, where she received fundamental training that laid the foundation of her art career. She has also taken numerous private lessons from many renowned artists here in Hawaii. While raising 2 children, her desire to create beautiful visions of lush scenes became part of her life. She now devotes most of her spare time to this passion, painting in a realistic style, and mostly Hawaiian landscapes and seascapes in oils. She presently resides with her husband in Kalaheo of Kauai, Hawaii.
