SEAMUS was born and raised in upstate Washington "on the straits of "Juan De Fuca" in Port Townsend. He moved to Hawaii in 1966 after 2 years in the Army and quickly became a noted diver and marine life photographer. When an ear infection forced him to abandon his diving, SEAMUS began to sketch his impressions of the ocean and its fragile beauty and was commissioned to do a fish guide for the Hawaii Library System. Soon he was painting marine life in acrylic paint on canvas. As the demand for his pieces increased, so did the creativity of his work. SEAMUS, the artist, had arrived. His unique use of colors combined with his attention to authenticity has set him apart from other marine life artists for over 30 years. "I want to express purity as well as beauty in myh paintings." After a few years of traveling and painting in the South Pacific SEAMUS decided to call the Garden Isle of Kauai his home. He has been painting daily at ALOHA IMAGES in Kapaa since 1995. In addition to tropical fish SEAMUS has expanded his subject matter to include tropical birds, Hawaiian artifacts, still lifes, koi, fresh water fish, butterflies, and florals.
